I'm a mama now!!

So I came in Saturday the 27th for an induction because I was over due. Disappointed but still optimistic. But it all went downhill from there! Every "what if" I researched and worried about happened. And I completely understand that a birth plan is just a very loose go by but I didn't expect that I'd only be able to do one thing one my plan!! The only thing that went well and I'm proud of is that I did have a vaginal birth, pushing for an hour and 20 minutes with no tearing. Every push empowered me and brought me closer to my beautiful son Henry Eli. On july 29th At 3:15am my baby was born 7 lbs 13 oz, 21 inches long. He is so wonderful but it has still been a struggle though. I feel like I was pushed into a few things I didn't want. I didn't want extra cervical checks especially after they broke my water for fear of infection. Well guess who got an infection and their baby is in the NICU? Me of course! He is fine and doing well it is mainly just protocol that he stays for 48 hours there. He is on an Iv for fluids because I wanted to exclusively breastfeed but I over slept for one feeding by 15 minutes(in my defense I was exhausted and it's hard to wake up at 2am when you are) and they made me feel terrible about him being hungry so we started supplementing with formula. Well when I put him to breast he suckles for 10 seconds and gives up because he knows the bottle is easier. Now I'm just worried it will be so hard to get him back to breast. The feeding right before we introduced formula he latched the entire 30 minutes and was doing wonderful! I also want to say how amazing and supportive my husband is. if he wasn't so supportive throughout the entire pregnancy and birth I don't know what i would of done without him. l just wanted to leave an update for anyone reading and to boast about my little man,
                Til next time,

First Blog Post EVER!!

Alexis here, the Mostly Meatless Mama! If you're reading this thank you, I'm very new to this and I'd love some input on how to make my blog better and what you think i should blog about. At this point my direction is up in the air, I pretty much want to chronicle my day to day shenanigans with my wonderful husband and soon to be newborn son. I love to cook, try new recipes, make crafts, and a lot of DIY projects. I am a bargainer at heart so I'm always looking for the best sales and I will share those as much as I can. You can follow me on pinterest or instagram.
