Oh man, being a mommy is NOT a piece of
cake! Whoever said stay at home moms are lazy and just sit around all day has
obviously never done it. Little man is five weeks old now and I am just now
getting the hang of things. Thankfully, Henry has a wonderful latch and a
healthy appetite, so breastfeeding has been the easiest part. It's the cloth
diapering that's hard! DH and I use prefolds, fitteds, covers and pockets. My
Alva newborn pockets are the main problem. I have stripped them with Dawn dish
soap and they still leak every night. They leak out of the thighs, but I can't
put them on any tighter. I think he just needs to be chubbier :P We also
battled a small bout of diaper rash but coconut oil and fleece liners helped
clear that up very quickly.
Emotionally it's taking a little bit of a
toll on me. I'm feeling a little lonely and isolated being a SAHM. Right now we
only have one vehicle and DH takes it to work during the day. The only time I
get out of the house right now is to get the groceries, and it's a good thing I
LOVE grocery shopping! It seems like "me time" went from shopping for
new clothes or getting Starbucks to a hot 10 minute shower or finishing the
load of laundry I've been working on all day. In a few weeks though we will be
getting a second vehicle so
I'd love to find new mommies in the El Paso area to get to know.
